General Studies and Critical Thinking

Most A level students take one of these subjects as a supplementary AS during year 12.

They develop knowledge and skills that employers and university admissions officers are looking for.

An AS in General Studies shows that the student knows about current events and the main issues facing us as citizens of the UK. The course also develops discussion and writing skills.

AS Critical Thinking teaches a student to analyse arguments and claims put forward by others. This is useful in academic work and as consumers of the media and advertising. The course also develops students' communication skills.
