Home Work
Home work is set by each teacher on a weekly basis and will vary depending on the work the students are undertaking at the particular time, however as a rough guide students should spend around one hour per week on each of their home works. At the end of each module students complete a multiple choice exam which is worth a total of 30% of their final GCSE grades. Students also complete several pieces of course work over the two years which is worth a total of 20% of their final GCSE Grade. The remaining 50% of their grade comes from the GCSE exam at the end of year 11. 1 - The human body - action and control
2 - Inheritance and survival 3 - Chemical Patterns 4 - Chemistry in action 5 - Energy and electricity 6 - Waves, atoms and space 7 - Food production and the environment 8 - Health and exercise 9 - Chemicals and the Earth 10 - Understanding chemical reactions 11 - Movement and change 12 - Energy, force and communication We also have a couple of other guides available for Physics to help with the mathematical side of the subject. Time is very short within the modules so we recommend that students constantly review their work spending time to keep abreast of all that is being covered and has been covered during their time in science. Nearer the end of the course we also have access to past exam papers to get the students used to the style of questions asked and how they should answer them. Basically the more practice the student has the better they become - most of this MUST be led by the student, the staff will aim to facilitate their work in any way that we can. |
