Science at Saint George's

The science department is split into 3 main areas key stage 3, key stage 4 and As/A2-level.

Key Stage 3

This covers years 7 to 9. Currently year seven eight and nine follow the Eureka course. This is a published course that follows the QCA scheme quite well, it is fully differentiated and provides some excellent resorces for teachers and students to use.

Key Stage 4

Year 10 and 11

The majority of students follow the EDEXCEL double modular course which is split into twelve module covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The course is a double award course and so is equivalent to two GCSE's.

A select few follow the single modular Science course, which leads to one GCSE, studying the ASDAN award alongside their Science studies.

This is of course all due to change in one years time when a new course has to be started

Key Stage 5 (sixth form)

The sixth form offers all of the sciences at AS and A2 Level and also single modular retake at GCSE Level.
