Key Stage 4

As pupils take their options at the end of Year 8, in Year 9 the pupils begin their GCSE course. If they have opted to study Full course RE they start the course at the start of Year 9. If they are following short course, the year starts with Hinduism and Buddhism, then follows the short course syllabus.

Short Course Re

All students follow a short course G.C.S.E syllabus in RE entitled ‘Religion and life’, which is separated into five units including ‘matters of life and death, ‘marriage and family life’, and ‘religion in The media’.

Long Course RE

Those students following the long course syllabus will study the units of 'Beliefs and Values' , 'Community and Tradition', 'Worship and Celebration', 'Living the Christian Life' and 'Christian Vocation'alongside the short course units.
