Welcome to the Additional Eduacational Needs Dept

We want all our students to achieve the best they possibly can!

The department provides additional help to students who find school challenging, especially those who are on our Additional Educational Needs (AEN) register. The department comes under the umbrella of the Personalised Learning Team. The AEN team comprises the AENCO, two Assistant AENCOs, three higher level teaching assistants, nine teaching assistants and a clerical assistant.

To give extra support to bi-lingual students the school has an EAL Co-ordinator Ms C O'Donnell and two bi-lingual teaching assistant.

We work closely with staff from other agencies, especially LEA support services. Services currently working regularly in the school include:

Specialist Teacher Service

Educational Psychology Service

Sensory Impairment Service.

We also have good links with the Hospital School and with the SMILE Centre in Gravesend.
