English at Saint George's Church of England School

English is the key to success in a broad range of subjects. Every pupil is provided with the Saint George’s English Department Pupil and Parent guide which explains spelling, punctuation, the importance of reading, and other information vital to their development. Pupils therefore know exactly what is required and parents know how to help. This is the cornerstone of the department’s partnership with parents.

Imagination and creativity are no less important than basic skills. The aim is to produce well-rounded individuals of discrimination, who are able to achieve their full potential in whatever comes to be their chosen field.
